Tamarillos with BdMax

Over the last 17 years we have been consistently successful on Tamarillos with frost protection and insect control.

Pest Free
White Fly and aphids are the main pests we have on Tamarillos. They excrete a sugar urine that allows for sooty mould to grow on the fruit.  Since 1991 we have been successful in controlling these in commercial orchards. Initially we used our 'Pest protection' product however over the last three seasons we have found monthly applications of Etherics 1000 have been adequate for pest free growth.

Etherics 1000 can be purchased on its own but is supplied free with our specialist products.

Frost Protection

During this same period we have also had very good control of frost damage,to -3C, with ThermoMax.
Applications are made every three weeks during the winter and spring periods.

One winter mature trees were struck with a -6C frost. All wood smaller than 1.5 inches was burnt, however the main trunks were fine and produced normally in the following seasons.
